Every once in a while an artist comes along who redefines and innovates. Devajyoti Ray is one such.
Inspired by everday life, he has created a new style of painting that is defined as 'presudorealistic' orginally a cinematic term.
Unlike many artists you don't really need to decipher the meaning and inspiration behind the art. Instead, he has used simplicity as the tool for his art, coupled it with scenes from ordinary life and infused it with his creative brilliance in terms of the use of colour.
An exhibition of his works will be profiled at the Sridharani Art Gallery at the Triveni Kala Sangam in Delhi from 5th to 15th October. Art that everyone can relate to and understand and yet something so extraodrinary. Juxtaposing the common with the unique. What I really found interesting was that while his art approaches the world using the tools of pseudo realism it is also making a similar statement on the very nature of our world. Some term it as depicting reality using abstraction . Whatever your definition, the experience will most definitely be 'simply - vibrant
