Yeh Lo !! So says Pantone in 2009

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say, it's all right .

While the world is learning to deal with a period of recession, global terror and environmental concerns, it is perhaps apt that Mimosa Yellow, be chosen as the colour of the year, by Pantone. We could all use that brightness and cheer in our homes. Yellow is a colour that takes away feelings of depression and incertainty. In recent times, never have we needed such therapy more.

Yellow, in its many hues, has been on the fashion ramp for a while now, and left its stamp in the dull grey minimalist interiors of the new millenium. It is here for the long haul.

Yellow is a difficult colour to work with. Its undiluted resplendance needs to be used carefully with other colours to offset its brilliance. You need to find just the right shade of yellow for a particular space and use it just enough to make it effective and yer not overpowering.

An indulgent white backdrop or a subtle grey coordinate would complement virtually any shade of yellow; while black and chrome would make a dramatic contemporary frame.
Yellow has been on a long leave of absence and whether you choose to welcome it back in modern splendour or touch base with echoes of country living past, either way---let it bring that smile back to your living space and wipe away the crease on a minimalist brow.
